How Split PDF works
How this tool works
Split PDF extracts pages from one PDF into separate files. You can split every page into its own PDF or enter custom ranges such as 1-3, 4-6, and each range becomes one output file.
When to use it
Use it to pull a single contract out of a large scan package, distribute chapters of a report to different people, or extract a few pages from a long document instead of sending all of it.
What to expect
You get one PDF per range or per page, plus a ZIP package with all outputs at once. Page content is copied unchanged; nothing is re-rendered or recompressed.
Limits and important notes
Ranges must use existing page numbers inside the document — invalid formats or numbers beyond the last page are rejected before processing. The tool works on one file at a time.
A practical example
From a 40-page application, you extract pages 1-2 (cover letter), 3-22 (CV) and 23-40 (certificates) as three separate PDFs.
