How works
How this tool works
Convert PDF moves a document between formats in your browser: PDF to JPG or PNG images, JPG and PNG to PDF, PDF to TXT, DOCX, XLSX and PPTX, DOCX to PDF, and scanned PDF to DOCX using OCR.
When to use it
Use it when a system only accepts one format — a form that wants JPG, an editor that wants DOCX, or a spreadsheet tool that wants XLSX — and your file is in another format.
What to expect
Image conversions render each page as a picture. TXT, DOCX and XLSX exports are text-focused: they carry the document's text content, not a pixel-perfect copy of the layout. PPTX export uses rendered page images for reliable slides.
Limits and important notes
Layout is not perfectly reconstructed for Office formats: complex tables, columns and designs are simplified. Scanned PDFs need OCR before text can be exported to DOCX or XLSX, otherwise there is no text to work with.
A practical example
You convert a PDF page into a JPG to paste into a presentation, or export a text-heavy PDF to DOCX so you can continue editing it in Word.
