How Add Page Numbers works
How this tool works
Add Page Numbers stamps numbering onto your pages. You choose the position (top or bottom), the alignment (left, center or right), and a format such as plain numbers, "Page 1" or "1 / N".
When to use it
Use it for reports, contracts, manuals or filings where pages must be countable and referenceable — especially when pages are printed or assembled from several files.
What to expect
The numbers are added as visible text on each page in the order the pages appear. The content is not renumbered or restructured — existing numbers inside the content, if any, stay as they are.
Limits and important notes
The tool stamps numbering on top of the page; it cannot detect or remove numbers that already exist in the content, and numbering always follows the current page order.
A practical example
A merged contract without numbering gets "Page 1" to "Page 12" at the bottom center before it is printed and signed.
