How Crop PDF works
How this tool works
Crop PDF sets a new visible page area. You enter top, right, bottom and left values, see exactly which part of the page remains in the preview, and the crop is written into the PDF's page box.
When to use it
Use it to trim scan borders and printer margins, to remove a header or footer strip from many pages at once, or to cut a wide page down to the content you actually need.
What to expect
The retained area matches the preview, including for pages with a rotation setting. Cropping can also extend the page area outward instead of shrinking it. Content outside the crop area is hidden by the page box, not destroyed.
Limits and important notes
The crop applies to the pages you select, and pages with different sizes or rotations are each cropped relative to their own visible area. Some workflows and printers ignore crop settings and use the full page.
A practical example
A scanned A4 page with a broad black scan border is trimmed on all four sides with one set of values, so the exported PDF shows only the clean document area.
