How this tool works

Fill PDF Forms detects the interactive form fields in your PDF and lets you fill them directly in the page preview. The filled values are written into the form fields of the exported file.

When to use it

Use it for application forms, registration and official forms, or any PDF that contains real, fillable form fields and must be returned filled in.

What to expect

Fields that exist in the PDF appear as editable inputs in the preview, including text fields, checkboxes and radio buttons where the form defines them. The exported PDF contains the values in the form fields.

Limits and important notes

Flattened PDFs and scans have no interactive fields and cannot be filled this way — there is nothing for the tool to detect, and OCR does not create form fields. Manual mode lets you place text, dates and checkboxes on top of such pages instead.

You open a registration form with ten interactive fields, fill them in the preview and download the completed PDF for submission.

My PDF has no fillable fields — what now?

Flattened and scanned forms contain no interactive fields, so there is nothing to fill automatically. Use the manual mode to place text and checkboxes on the page yourself.

Does this work for scanned paper forms?

Not automatically. Scans are images without form fields, and OCR cannot create form fields. Use manual mode to place text on a copy of the scan.

Where are the values stored?

In the form fields of the exported PDF. The document is processed in your browser and nothing is submitted to a server.
