How N-up PDF works
How this tool works
N-up PDF places several source pages onto one output sheet. You choose a layout such as 2-up, 4-up, 6-up, 9-up or 16-up, and each sheet shows that many source pages side by side.
When to use it
Use it to print handouts with several slides per sheet, to produce compact print versions of long documents, or to review many pages on fewer printed sheets.
What to expect
Each output page contains a grid of scaled-down source pages. Text becomes smaller as more pages share a sheet, so 2-up and 4-up stay readable while 9-up and 16-up suit overviews rather than reading.
Limits and important notes
Source pages are scaled to fit the grid; very dense layouts reduce readability. The tool arranges pages in a grid — it does not create a booklet with imposed margins for duplex folding.
A practical example
A 24-page presentation is printed as a 6-up handout on four sheets instead of 24 pages of paper.
